Bring your design ideas to life.
This step-by-step introductory pattern cutting course will introduce you to the basic techniques for womenswear pattern cutting. You’ll be working from a standard size 10 template (block) and you’ll investigate how to make a range of pattern pieces for the bodice, skirt and sleeve. You’ll get the opportunity to discuss different styles and how you can alter your patterns to create different shapes. The course will also cover a brief introduction to sizing and how you can modify your patterns for a better fit.
Fashion Illustration for Beginners
Every Saturday
11am-5pm
Cost: £95 (all materials included)
Get hands on instruction from an experienced fashion illustrator.
Learn how to create your own silhouette and translate your design idea into to a professional coloured sketch. With one on one tuition you will learn that the ability to get your designs on paper is crucial for anyone who wants to become a fashion designer. If you think you can't draw or are frustrated by your inability to translate the ideas in your head into sketches that can become part of your fashion portfolio, this course is for you, the complete beginner.
Embroidery Design for Beginners
Every Saturday
11am-5pm
Cost: £95 (all materials included)
Learn how to translate your embroidery ideas into production ready artworks.
Our studio manager has designed embroideries for McQueen and Tom Ford and will show you the tricks of the trade for designing couture standard embroidery.. You will have access to a large library of swatches and materials which you will be encouraged to explore and draw from.
This session is a must for aspiring bridal and evening wear designers or for those wanting to introduce luxury embroidery to their work.
